For charging hardware to qualify for the French government's ADVENIR subsidy program, specific technical rules must be met. These include integrating MID-certified energy meters for precise billing, support for smart charging interfaces, and compatibility with local backend systems via OCPP 1.6J or OCPP 2.0.1. MIDA's DC fast chargers integrate these protocols natively, enabling seamless integration with local public charge point operators (CPOs).
Urban density in the center of Paris makes retrofitting the electrical grid to install multi-megawatt chargers difficult. MIDA addresses this by pairing charging cabinets with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). By using 60kWh to 2MWh battery storage buffers, operators can deliver up to 360kW DC charging speeds even when connected to standard low-voltage distribution grids, reducing peak demand surcharges.
Delivering high currents (350A to 500A+) through standard cables generates high thermal loads. MIDA's proprietary liquid-cooled CCS2 charging lines use a continuous glycol-water cooling circuit inside the cable and connector.
