By activating the in-vehicle hardware and purchasing an external adapter, you can take advantage of the global network of DC charging stations. CHAdeMO stations can charge at up to 43 kW or 108 km of range every half hour.
For Model S vehicles without Supercharging enabled, the in-vehicle hardware must be activated to use the CHAdeMO adapter. All new Model S or Model X vehicles are Supercharging enabled.
